Dental Technology Vancouver WA
At Oasis Dental, we use cutting-edge technology and techniques to provide the quickest, safest, and most effective procedures. It is a very exciting time for dentists and patients alike. The innovative changes in technology have improved the way we diagnose, treatment, and prevent oral healthcare issues at the fundamental level.
Traditional x-rays are captured onto film after they are developed with chemicals. The developmental process usually takes a significant amount of time. In recent years, many dentists, including Dr. Aldridge, have switched over to digital x-rays. Digital x-rays provide some advantages over traditional ones.
To take a digital x-ray, all we need to do is insert a digital sensor into your mouth and aim the machine at the designated area. In a matter of seconds, the x-ray will appear on our screen. Unlike traditional x-rays, digital ones can be retaken almost immediately if there are issues with the image. They also produce much less radiation. The images can also be digitally enhanced to help us diagnose smaller instances of decay than ever before. Learn more about Digital X-rays
During your professional cleaning, our dental hygienist will use an ultrasonic scaler, rather than a metal hand tool. The ultrasonic scaler has revolutionized the way we prevent and treat gum disease. Using water or a cleaning solution, the scaler produces microscopic bubbles. These bubbles implode on the surfaces of your teeth, destroying any plaque and tartar build-up. They also kill off any remaining bacteria.
With ultrasonic scalers, there is no risk of damaging healthy enamel. They are also used to perform a scaling and root planing procedure. This “deep cleaning” is performed when a patient exhibits symptoms of gum disease. Once the procedure is complete, your gums should return to a healthy state. Learn more about Ultrasonic Scaler
We use an intraoral camera to capture thousands of images of your teeth and gums. Intraoral cameras can capture every minute detail of a tooth with staggering accuracy.
These images can be used to diagnose potential problems or even to fabricate a restoration. Intraoral scanners have eliminated the need for traditional impressions that require goopy, uncomfortable impression material. Learn more about Intraoral Cameras.
Same Day Crowns Using E4D
Our Planmeca PlanScan Scanner is used in conjunction without E4D same day crown system. The images collected with the scanner are immediately sent to the Planmeca PlanCAD software system. This software combines the images to form a digital impression. The digital impression is used to design and develop a 3D representation of a porcelain crown. Once we are happy with the design, this information will be transferred to out Planmeca PlanMill 40 S machine. This milling machine turns special porcelain blocks into complete restorations, all within a matter of minutes. Each restoration is completely customized to meet your individual needs. Once the restoration is complete, we will permanently attach it to the damaged tooth. The entire process can be completed within a few hours!
